Do I have Chronic Achilles Tendonitis

Post a new topicby silver surfer on Wed Aug 27, 2008 6:18 am

Hello,

I have recently seen my doctor about pains in both ankles/feet, I have been to the hospital for blood tests and have xrays in 2 weeks. (blood tests negative apart from Cholesteral which is 5.5)

for over a year my left ankle/foot has been painfull, especially when at work when I often get up from my desk to go somewhere, i am often limping for the first 30 paces. As you can imgaine i am to/fro from my desk all day. Sometimes I can be limping for over 30 mins before the pain goes away.

In the last 3 months the pain has gotton considerably worse, to a point that when i wake up in the morning my feet are in pain. My left ankle/foot is worse but my right ankle/foot has started to show the same problems. Sometimes when i am just sitting watching TV i get throbbing pains in the ankles and swelling, about 4" above my heel a medium size ball shaped knot appears which is very sore to touch.

Does this sound like Tendonitis?

Hi. I am not a doctor, but it could be achilies or it could also be plantar fascia. That is where when you get up first thing in the morning and your feet hurt to walk on. Often times you will have heel pain as well. If your actual achilies is hurting then it is more tendonitis. Stretching your calves will help either way. Good Luck getting better soon.
