This all depends on how severe the tendinitis is in your leg. The key is to allow the tendon to heal before you try rehabilitation. Physical therapy on an injured tendon can worsen the condiiton. You should work with a podiatrist to accurately treat your condition.

I have been dealing with achilles heel problems since 121399. The pain gets so bad I don't want to live. I have been told to live with it, etc. I have had a cast, moonboot, slept in a splint for months an mri x-rays and I do acupunture, now they want to try orthodics. Is it true that a sterodid shot is not advised because it may cause damage & then you would have to have surgery? I asked to have the nerves cut but was told this is not an option, What does a person do? With so many new drugs etc isn't there something that can be done? Is it uncommon to have the pain for this length of time? After a while you just get worn down, I also have fiberomyalgia and arthrities in both knees I have Vicodin, percoset, and darvocet to take when the pain gets too bad but then I am out of it for a couple of days. I don't know what is worse the pain or being doped up. I guess I don't expect you to have a magic answere but if you can think of anything we have not tried I would be forever grateful.

The fibromyalgia may be the cause of your achilles pain as well. You should try to go to a pain clinic tohelp you manage your pain without feeling "doped up."
