Tendonitis and gastrocnemius tear

Post a new topicby katesoul on Mon Jun 29, 2009 6:26 am

I have had tendonitis for about a year. I enjoy dancing on a weekend, but always limped a couple of days following the activity. Over the year, the pain has become more severe and the limping has lasted longer. 2 weeks ago I had had the pain worse than ever before and decided to go to my GP for advice - unfortunately the night before my appointment I simply tripped going upstairs which extended my right leg, and I tore my calf muscle. I attended A &E and I am awaiting a scan of both achilles and gastrocnemius. 2 weeks ago I could not weight bear, but I have improved as I can walk (slowly). My calf muscle feels very tight and walking is uncomfortable. What rehab should I be doing? I am doing calf stretches, but should I be walking as much as is comfortable. I am eager to get back to normal. Also, how soon can I dance again?
