Ankle injury from dog attack

Post a new topicby allymae6115 on Sat Oct 11, 2008 9:09 pm

Hi! I am new to this website but I need some advice. I was recently attacked by rotwheilers, where they bit into the back of my right ankle where my achilles tendon is, as it seems there was no significant damage to the tendon (I did require staples on the outsude part of my ankle and shin) but I have had alot of swelling and numbness to the outside and part of the top of the right side of my foot. I have seen 2 ER docs and my PCP and no one has referred me to a Ortho Dr., everything I have researched about injuries to places near joints should be seen by a Ortho Dr. I am stressed because I was told by the first Er that I should have been able to walk on it within days but I am still having to use crutches because of the numbness and pain, I cannot walk comfortably on the outside of my foot. I just wanted to know if anyone has any input because I am starting to feel like I will never feel like this forever!
THANKS!
