athletes foot

Post a new topicby Guest on Mon Nov 12, 2001 4:18 pm

My 16 year old daughter just got athletes foot when she started swimming. It's not between her toes, but behind her 3rd and 4th toes. Is it harder to get rid of it because she's still swimming? She's had it for 3 days now and she's been using a foot spray. It itches more when she's wearing shoes. Anything will help. Thank you.

Sprays are not that effective. Ideally, she should see a podiatrist so she can get a prescription for a stronger anti-fungal medicine. Also, she should apply this at night right before she goes to bed so it has a long time to work. Finally, wearing cotton socks may decrease the itching.
