Foot dermatitis?

Post a new topicby Guest on Sat Mar 02, 2002 2:42 am

I have never had Athlete's Foot, but several months ago developed scaling on the bottom and along the sides of my feet and bottom of toes. Prior to treatment with a hydrocorticosteroid and Drysol, my socks would stick to to soles of my feet, discoloring the socks yellow where they were in contact with my feet. Their was also a noticeable odor. The staining is gone, but the cracking and a slight smell remain. I wear good quality socks and shoes and have very good hygiene. Is this Moccassin foot and how do I treat my condition?

You may have one of a couple different conditions. These include athlete's foot which is a fungal infection, hyperhydrosis where your feet sweat too much, or a bacterial infection. You need to see a podiatrist for an accurate diagnosis. Once you are properly diagnosed, there are treatments for each of these conditions.
