is this athletes foot?

Post a new topicby Guest on Fri Oct 31, 2003 6:27 pm

my 17 year old son had an ingrowing toe
nail removed (by a freezing process)that was in august, after a few weeks his toe started to blister and weep and smell,he returned to the doctor who said it was unrelated to the process.the doctor said it was a form of
athletes foot and gave him some creme and powder for his sock.now it has returned again, redness,a pungent smell
blisters and pus.this time he has given chris my son some tablets called flucillin and fucidin creme.the doctor also did a test for diabetes, which was o.k i thought athletes foot started on the small toe and in between, but its just chris's big toe thats affected, just above his cuticle ,its also swollen.any ideas? p.s how often should he bathe it?
