There is no cure but there are treatments. Topical steroid creams are very effective at calming the condition to the point where it is bearable. Good luck and if you have any further questions, please write back.

I am a 57 year old male who has been diagnosed with Lupus. For the past year and a half I have had foot pain with redness in the toes, followed by deep pain in the bottom of my feet from the toes to the heels and also a lot of surface numbness. I saw a podiatrist who trimmed the nails and gave me an ointment called Spectazole 1% and have also used over-the-counter cream called Miconazole Nitrate 2%. Nothing works. Is this really the foot fungus or caused by my Lupus(SLE)? Is there any treatment other than what I have tried? Thanks, GB James
