Bunion below small toe

Post a new topicby Indy on Mon Sep 24, 2007 6:38 pm

I have allot about bunions on big toes, but haven't
haven't anything about ones below the small toe. I
have been having injections, but the bunion comes
back. Are there any devices to help with small toe
bunions ? I've have orthodics put in my shoes and it
helped for awhile, but it is starting to hurt again. I
had my shoes stretched on the side where the bunion
is, but that only worked for a short time. Any one else
have this problem ? Any suggestions or ideas....Indy

I know they are called Taylor's Buninons. I'm not sure what you can do but tat might help some with your research.
Good Luck.

Thank you for the name of my problem. I did some more research and
discovered that was what it was called. Do you know if they have a
device you can use to help ease the pain, besides bunion pads ??? Thank you
for replying.. Indy

You might want to check out pads to put on the side of shoes to help with the pressure. You might want to check and see if there's any procedures that might be able to relieve the pressure. I definetely recommend you ask your physician what is best, but you might need to start thinking surgery.
Good Luck Once again.

I have a bunionette on my right foot. I am scheduled for surgery on October 26th. They are going to break and re-align my 5th metatarsal (spelling) and my small toe. From what I read this is very similar surgery as a bunion just on the other side of the foot.

I have had the bunionette as long as I can remember with pain for a day or so here or there. The past month I have been in terrible pain and walk with a limp. That is when I decided it was time to seek medical attentation. You should probably do the same.

Good luck!

In reply to your question, I have got exactly the same thing on my right foot.

I used to do ballet when I was small and I went up on my point shoes too early. I now have bunions on both my feet connected to my large toe and on my right foot I also have a little one under my small (fifth) toe.

I also have Morton's Neuroma in my right foot because of my bunion and am waiting for my operation for that before my doctor will consider operating on my bunions.

At the moment just looking at my feet makes me feel like a hobbit because I can only wear flat, padded shoes, not nice and so painful...
