Bunion Diagnosis or Not?For about the last month or so, I have been experiencing a rather strange "sensation" in my left foot. Initially it felt like a lack of circulation and of course I became alarmed. However, when researching, it does not appear to really reflect the symptoms of PVD - My foot is not cold to the touch, I don't experience pain while walking, I still have hair on my leg, there is little or no tingling, etc. Now, I'm thinking that perhaps it's a mild numbness I'm experiencing. The feeling comes several times a day and can last for quite a long period. I also experience an intense burning right around the Metatarsophalangeal Joint several times a day. My big toe certainly is leaning inward toward the 2nd toe, and there is a callous on the big toe, as well. I'm hoping that the diagnosis is a bunion as opposed to something much more serious that could possibly lead to a stroke or heart attack And yes, I do believe I started wearing a pair of new shoes that were a bit tight before the onset of these symptoms. However, I haven't worn them for about a month, but the problems still persist. Any thoughts?
Re: Bunion Diagnosis or Not?Hi
I too have the same leaning toward my 2nd toe. Do you actually see a big bump on your joint below the big toe? If so then you have a bunion. If not, it is likely you don't. When this leaning occurs there should be an obvious bump. Mine are pretty obvious and I am leaning toward surgery. In experience I would say you don't have a bunion only because you should experience pain at times while walking. I am not sure though and you should see an orthopedic surgeon or podiatrist to be sure.
