bunion surgery with previous staff infection

Post a new topicby Guest on Mon Nov 05, 2001 11:29 pm

what are my chances that I will get another staff infection, (osteomorosis?), if I opt for surgery to shave off my re-formed bunion? I had a Bunionectomy 15 years ago and got a staff infection and was on I.V. for 2 months. The incision had to heal from the inside out; packed bi-daily with gauze.

Post-operative infections occur in about 1%-5% of surgeries. Therefoere, you chance of getting an infection is very low.
