Bunions

Post a new topicby Guest on Fri Jun 29, 2001 5:58 pm

I had surgery on one foot and after the surgery the bunion got worse and the flexability in the foot decreased by at least 28%. I do have flat feet; at night I sleep in toe seperators.
Can I re-train my toes if I wear a product which seperates the toes?

I have ortho. if I wear them all day will it help stop the foot from changing so rapidly?

Toe separators can help stretch some ligaments and tighten others. This can help realign the toe somewhat. Orthotics can also help slow progression, but they do not really reverse conditions that already exist. The joint flexibility can be improved with stretching exercises and even physical therapy to help increase the range of motion in the joint.
