Dislocated Toe following Bunionectomy

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Dec 02, 2003 10:17 pm

Long story, but I'll make it short. I had a bunionectomy, it dislocated within the first couple of weeks while in a cast. It was manipulated back into place and splinted. Within two weeks of the splint coming off, it dislocated again.

Anyway, the toe is considered to be unstable and requires surgery. Fusion vs. implant? I am 39 years old, fairly active. Any thoughts? Anyone been through this?

Thanks

I'm sorry to hear that ur surgery is proving to be such a pain. I was recently diagnosed with a bunion and my podiatrist insisted that surgery was the only option. I don't know how bad ur bunion was but I personally am afraid of the whole idea of having my foot cut open. I hope that ur experience gets better in time. Good Luck!
