IS this Gout or a BunionI have had had previous occurances of Gout before and I know that it goes away with the treatment from a doctor. My present bout was treated by a doctor given medications that help the pain and swelling. However, in years past it seamed as if the medication took out the pain right away, whereas this time I still feel pain in the same place "the big toe" and all of the area around. I am wondering if it is something else than gout. Could it be a bunion?
I am taking a high dose of ibuprofen(800mg) in the morning which seems to take the pain away within 30 minutes or so, and then I am good for 12 hours or so then pain takes part again. When I awaken each morning I have pain around the same place, "the Big Toe" and a little swelling. I have taken out the purine rich foods in my diet so I am hoping it is something else. This is now going on the 3rd week. What should I do? I am 28 and many people continue telling me that I am too young.
Re: IS this Gout or a BunionIt might be especially if this is a daily occurrence, see a podiatrist and get and xray, good luck
