CharcotHi,
I am sorry that I have had to come to this site. Sadly a friend found out a few months ago that he has this disease. It is a big shock, he is a missionary and used to travel a lot to countries such as Ethiopia. Now he is on crutches for maybe a year. What I want to know is can a patient have any operation that would help this condition? Will he be likely to be able to walk normally ever again, is there anything good I can pass on to him? Now we are praying that he will not be one of the 20% who develop it in both feet. If anyone can give me any advice that I can pass on to my friend it would be most welcome. Very best wishes to everyone. Veda

Thank you for participating in the forum. Sorry to hear about your friend's problems with Charcot Foot. There is physician-developed and monitored information regarding treatments for Charcot Foot on this website at the following link: http://www.podiatrychannel.com/charcotfoot/diagnosis.shtml#treatment I hope this information is helpful. Physicians who monitor these forums respond to some posts but not to all, so please continue to post in the forum as you learn additional information. I wish you the very best.
Re: CharcotThank you very much for the information.
Best wishes, Veda
