The effects of CMT1My daughter just turned 2 and I worry everyday that she will have this disease.
Her father is the one that carries the gene. I was told by genetic counselers that she had a 50/50 chance of getting the gene from him. I was also told that it affects boys more than girls. I know she will be able to live a normal life and I know she will not die from this, but I don’t know what to expect and I just feel totally unprepared and ignorant about this disease. Re: The effects of CMT1hello, I´m from Spain. I´m 18 years old. I don't know a lot of English, but I can said that I have got CMT. The doctor´s operated me when I was 9 years. I couldn't walk very well and the other children laughed me because I was taking devices in the feet.
I never meet people who have CMT!
