Burning in feet

Post a new topicby Exdeltalady on Sat Aug 18, 2007 1:37 am

Hi! Does anyone with CMT experience a warm water feeling in the feet, along with some burning? I have recently experienced this while beginning an exercise routine that is consisting of a lot of walking. I am wondering if perhaps it is my body's way of telling me that I am walking too much.
I am not sure what kind of CMT I have but have been diagnosed for about ten years. I am fifty years old and am female. Overall, I am lucky in the sense that my symptoms are manageable. I do have a left drop foot and can only wear flat shoes.

I am 52 years old and just found out that I have CMT. It started out with my heels hurting so bad that I could hardly get out of bed in the mornings. I feel now it is going into my legs and hands because of the pain in the nerve endings. My Dad and My Grandmother and Great Mother had this same disease.

I try to deal with this everyday but the doctor has ordered a scooter for me and this has devastated me.

I have always been so active and love to work outside and will have to get use to doing things in a different manner. I have a lot of burning in my feet also in the morning and sometimes the whole day long. I hope that your CMT doesn't progress any further. Email me sometime.

Sincerely,

Gerri J.

Hi,
Do you have deep callouses on your feet? that causes the burning. my doctor uses a scalpel to gently cut them off every few weeks. I go in limpling in pain & come out with a big smile! also you can soak them & cut them off yourself but I don't recommend it unless you really have a steady hand.
Good Luck,

I have the burning in my feet 24/7 it is very annoying hard to find cmfortable shoes always feels like there is something in my shoe. The burning started 6 years ago and I was just diagnosed with CMT in November 2007 after many misdiagnoses. I found out about CMT from my local newspaper in a column called Dr. Donahue the had Phone # to call CMT society. which told me I had every symptom associated with CMT thank u Eban

There are 3 things that cause burning in the feet with CMT. The first is Peroneal Nerve entrapment. This will cause you 4 lesser toes to burn. The second is Tarsal Nerve entrapment. This will cause your big toe to burn. The third is Plantar Fasciitus. This will cause yjr bottom of your heel to burn. If you have all 3 like I had it can make life miserable. Good Luck with your problems.
