CornsI seem to have been blessed with very long toes and am plagued by corns. I've tried over-the-counter treatments, which have actually caused the corns to more than double in size and worsen severley in appearance. Is this normal? I have any appointment with a dermatologist to have the problem addressed, as the procedure for removing the corns seems one a dermatologist can perform. I've been to a podiatrist and was simply told I had ugly feet and was sent on my way. Should I see a podiatrist to have the corns removed, or will the dermatologist do? Also, I've tried padding and using donuts to relieve pressure, but I seldon have enough room in the toe box of my shoes, and the padding seems to be counterproductive. Any suggestions.
Re: CornsOver-the-counter corn treatments apply acid to the skin and can irritate your skin very much would will cause the corns to increase in size. A dermatologist will not be able to perform surgery on you which is the only way to get rid of corns. You need to see a podiatrist who performs surgery in order to get permanent relief from the corns. The surgery is very simple and the recocery time is relatively short. Have a nice day and please write back if you have any further questions.
