On the bend of my first toe there are several corns or possibly warts and I do not know how to get rid of them. They are noticable and I really wish they would go away. Some people say tell the doctor but I am to embaressed. So what should I do?

You need to go to a podiatrist to have your feet examined and properly diagnosed. They are probably corns and the podiatrist will offer you many treatment options to help minimize them as well as to get rid of them permanently.
