Discolored skin

Post a new topicby Guest on Wed Aug 07, 2002 11:37 pm

I used a corn medication on my toes which severely discolored them. I heard that Dr. Scholl's makes a product specifically for skin discoloration, but I can not find it. Do you know anything about this product or any other product that I can use to get my skintone back to normal?

I have never heard of the product you mention. The only way get the skin back to its normal color is to let the tissue have time to heal since the corn medication is an acid that burns away layers of skin that contain your skin's pigment.

The same exact thing happened to me! I had two soft corns on my toes and I used the Dr. Scholl's corn remover with salicylic acid (HUGE MISTAKE!!!) Not only did it not work but now I have two spots of dark skin that are bigger than the original soft corns. The doctor was right. That acid destroyed the skin. Im a light-skinned African American but now I have two toes that are 4 shades darker than the rest of my body. I'm now trying skin discoloration cream with 2% Hydroquinone. What worked for you? Did the discoloration fade away? How lond did it take?
