pain-callusesI had surgery approximately 3-4 yrs ago on one foot for 2 bunions and three hammertoes. At this time I also was in need for my other foot to have the same surgery, but did not perform due to the excess down time. I was also suffering with the constant growth of calluses on the balls of both feet as well as my big toes. 4 yrs later, I must visit the podiatrist a min of every 4 weeks to have the calluses razored down and has created much concern. I have switched my podiatrist who originally performed my surgery due to no concrete answers given to my after numerous self help, and other remedies were taken including orthodicts worn for approx 1 yr. My new podiatrists has said he has not seen calluses regrow to the extremity in which I experience and has concluded no answers. I also expressed my concern that my toe next to the big toe has begun to turn inward toward my middle toe. My doctor has in conversatsions originally suggested that due to the Big toe turning slightly in towards the other toes, it would need to be straightened and also that my toe next to the big toe may need some bone re-cut out but was uncertain if this was possible due to the extent of previous surgery. The scarring also on this foot is still so apparant that I dont believe it will ever heal properly. After suggesting new X-Rays, my doctor changed his opinion and said none of this was necessary. I still have no answers other than these painful visits to razor the calluses which have begun to be very painful on my big toe which has a small pin size what appears to be a blood clot that never goes away! The slightest pressure from the razor creates a pain that I cannot bear and also begins to bleed at the surface. No answer as to how this has been created only that a possible solution is to get to this nerve ending and cut out (what I dont understand) I am hoping to find a podiatrist who can sincerly help me for I am 40 yrs of age and cannot look forward to scraping my feet for the REST OF MY TIME!! My questions are numerous and I am hoping to find some educated answer .
