soft corns

Post a new topicby Guest on Thu Aug 01, 2002 12:13 pm

My brother's mother in law is in her eighties and has always had difficulty finding shoes to fit that also provide support. At this time she has developed soft corns and cannot wear any of her shoes comfortably, therefore does not have her shoes for support in walking. She lives in a remote part of Kentucky (Beattyville). Can you recommend a podiatrist who would do surgery on her corns, and or how she should go about looking for shoes to fit? Thank you, Henna Bartunek

I do not know any podiatrists in this area. However, she probably just needs her corns trimmed rather than having surgery. She is also probably eligible to receive extra-depth custom shoes that will give her good support. If she cannot find a podiatrist near her, she should make a trip to an urban area to be treated properly.
