What else, but corns!?Hi, I have corns (at least two) on each toe. Being an African American, the corns are very unappealing and very distinctly noticeable. I saw a podiatrist who said that the Dr. Scholl's "remedies" are the worst for me because of the pigmentation of my skin. He suggested that since my corns are "soft" (though on top of each toe), I use cocoa butter to blend the skin color and wear pads often. I still have the hammertoe syndrome going on, but he seems a bit reluctant to perform the necessary surgery. I want the skin to be smooth and all one color... Basically I just want beautiful feet...What should I do?
Re: What else, but corns!?Surgery can reduce the hammertoes and which are causing the corns. However, this will leave a scar on the top of the toe. Also, if the corns go away, this is no guarantee that the pigmentation will return to normal because there is scar tissue in the skin. Therefor,e this may be why your doctor is suggesting a conservative approach. If you still would like to try surgery, the podiatrist should be willing to perform the necessary surgery.

Re: Re: What else, but corns!?you know I have the exact same problem as you...I was wondering if you have found a cure for the pigmentation loss---pinkish/white toes on African-Americans does not look good. Gosh I wish I could find a cure!
