There are seven classes of oral drugs for diabetes—sulfonylureas, meglitinides, D-phenylalanine derivatives, biguanides, thiazolidinediones, alpha-glucosidase inhibitors, and dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors, as well as combination products.
