I am a 41 yr old woman who has had type 1 diabetes for 37 yrs. Last year I got diagnosed with polyneuropathy of the femoral lateral cuteaneous nerve, or the big nerve in my thigh. I felt like I’d been hit by a truck! I almost ended up in a wheelchair and the pain clinic sent me to a pain therapy group, which was good at first but half way thru I got sick of the “poor me” attitude, so I left.
