MRI Reaction

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Apr 09, 2002 3:34 pm

I had an MRI done on my knee this morning. When it was complete, I sat up and felt very dizzy, light headed, and nauseated. I did not have any anxiety about having the MRI and I was very relaxed during the test. For lask of a better explanation, I feel like I have motion sickness. They did not inject me with anything. The dizziness stayed with me for about 30 minutes before I could leave the office. Three hours have now passed and I still feel "off". Do you know what could cause this?

Anxiety. No one likes health care confrontations. It's normal.

No, not anxiety. I had absolutely no anxiety about it at all.
I've been nauseated all day and suffer from a feeling of motion sickness. I was looking for a more medical technical answer. Isn't there something else you can attribute this to?

Thanks...I'll contact someone in the profession here locally. It is not a health care confrontation. I guess I should not have expected more from a nameless, faceless contact...

The one thing it is not due to is the magnetic field, unless you have some sort of implant or metallic device that is responding to the field. Otherwise, I cannot imagine that the magnetic field is causing those symptoms.
Perhaps lying in a recumbant position in the magnet was uncomfortable.

Thank you. I will check out the site you suggest. Almost 24 hours has past and I still feel "off".
