CAN YOU TELL ME IF AN OPEN UNIT WILL GIVE THE SAME IMAGES AS A CLOSED. CAN YOU USE AN OPEN UNIT TO SCAN A BRAIN. IF THE MAGNETS IN THE UNITS OF AN OPEN AND CLOSED ARE EQUAL, WILL THE IMAGES ALSO BE EQUAL. THANK YOU BJ

For most purposes, the open magnets provide high quality images that are comparable to the closed magnets. However, most open magnets are of lower field strength than the newer closed gantry magnets. The higher field strength allows for greater flexibility and more sequences can be obtained if necessary.
