I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia six years ago. I was put through every test imaginable and took every medicine...neurontin, predinsone, flexeril, celebrex, vioxx,...and on and on. Until I seen a rheumatologist, I was so depressed and in pain I wanted to die ( not literally...lol), but I didn't care if I got out of bed. I didn't work for a year. Until I was put on a regimen to get deep sleep at night, a good anti-depressant and a low dose of elavil. I take Cymbalta, Ambien 10 mg, Elavil 25 mg...I take this every night. It's the only way I keep functioning. Strengthening exercises help with coordination and strength. The pain and sensitivity, but if you get on a good sleep regimen, you will see a difference. I've been on Ambien for 6 years now and will continue to take it if it means leading a half way normal life. I hope this will help others, just see a reputable rheumatologist, they know more and understand about fibromyalgia than some general doctors. During flare ups, I found that Tylenol helps better than anti-inflammatories or muscle relaxers. Lorcet is okay for flare ups but not an every day deal. Hard on the kidneys..Prednisone helped, but only made me gain 50 lbs, so that's definitely not the way to go...lol. Just do what ever it takes to get a good nights sleep...EVERY NIGHT....not 2-3 nights a week. Cymbalta also is suppose to help with the pain. This combination has worked well for me.... Good luck
