Newbie NOT to Fibro - Just to this group. Injections???Greetings to all,
I am a 60 year old female and I've had Fibro for 12 years now. It initially began as CFIDS, and within 2 years the pain came along. I was lucky in that I was diagnosed properly, and I think I have tried every medication possible to treat this obstinate illness. Seems that one medication will work for a period of time, then it wears off and we have to try something new. It has become wearisome. I went to a pain clinic last month and was diagnosed with myofacial pain syndrome along with bursitus. He suggested I do the trigger point injections along with a cortisone injection in my neck, so I decided to give it a go. For the first 2 days it was awesome, but now the pain, stiffness and burn is returning. I was euphoric, thinking that we had finally found the magic bullet, but 48 hours of relief was just not enough to get real excited about. I am feeling frustrated and down once again. Maybe there is just NO getting over this illness after a certain age?? Honestly, I have tried almost everything. Now I am on Lyrica, morphine sulfate, hydracordone and antidepressants. I lost my only son to suicide almost 4 years ago and wonder if that is antagonizing my illness. I am curious to see if anyone else on this forum has tried the injections and what your results were. I hope that belonging to a forum again will be helpful.
