Post-Fistulotomy DrainageOn June 28, 2007, I had a fistulotomy performed. I have had no pain since but I have had drainage ever since the surgery. Appromimately six weeks after the surgery, I went about three days without any or very minimal drainage, and I thought that my healing was almost complete. Unfortunately, it was fool's gold. It is now approaching five months into the healing process and I still have to use gauze pads, etc.
The inclusion of Citrucel has help me very much but I want to know if there is another procedure that might help eliminate residue buildup. In talking with my Surgeon who performed my surgery, his answers appear to be vague at best. Is there something that can be done to expedite complete healing from this or is this something that I will have to live with?
Re: Post-Fistulotomy DrainageI asked my doctor the same question. he told me that the shape of my U know what (where #2 comes out) has a slight curve or a fold in it because of the fistulotomy. That area is not the fistula draining. it is most likely your u know what collecting and draining liquid # 2.
However, with me being told that, the fistula came back after the surgery (3 months). I hope that helped.
