Toe pain

Post a new topicby livingwith on Mon Mar 17, 2008 4:26 pm

A year ago I started having toe pain on the 4th toe, when I was running a lot. I went to see a podiatrist and found that my toe ‘clicks’ towards the inside, to the 3rd toe. I realise that this post is quite old already, but I experience exactly the same problem. I've had the pain for about 3-4 years now, but recently it has seemed to get worse. My fourth toe hurts a lot when I run but also when I walk, especially in tight shoes, but sometimes even when I'm barefoot. I've started wearing a gel ring which seems to slightly alleviate the pain, but not very much. My physiotherapist has said that it's caused from my toe veering off at a slight angle which means that it collides with the other toe when I walk. He suggested wearing the toe ring to keep them separated but as I said it only seems to help a little bit. It's also worse in very cold weather. I wonder if you had had any luck with your problem? It's such an odd thing (and really such as small thing!) but it is constantly irritating and slightly painful for me that I would really like to sort it out. Any suggestions would be great!
