ball/toe pain

Post a new topicby Lyn Cheval on Wed Apr 08, 2009 1:08 am

My problem started some two and half years ago when I thoughts my sock had "gathered" under my toes (little and next one ?4th). This was not the case. I then, within a very short time thought that the seam of sock was pressing on top of these toes. I saw a podiatrist who made a tose seperator, an arch support with additionional cushioning for ball of foot and sent me on my way.

This had little or no effect.

I had begun to have pain in the ball of my foot, particularly between 3rd and fourth "joint", I wanted to take the toes in my hands 3 in one and 2 in the other and wiggle them to separate that area. This gave some instant but not lasting relieve.

The pain in my toe could be described at times like I imagine gout to feel, and once when wearing a gel sleave on 4th, the pain was somehow external/burning. so much so, that even though I was resting at the time, I had to rip it off(the gel!) to get relief.

I have reasons to consider peripheral nerve damage but wondered what other members thoughts might be.
