Hello, I am a 39 year old male with sudden onset of foot pain. For the past 7 months, I have experienced sudden onset of very sharp pains in my feet - mostly the left foot. I have looked all over the site and I have not found anything like I am experiencing, so here goes. When the pain is in the big toe, it begins at the joint on the inside area of the foot and extends to the end of the big toe. Sometimes, this pain is just so horrible. I normally, do not have any pain whatsoever if I am up and mobile on my feet, the pain comes when I lay down. If I massage the area, it goes away temporarily. The pain lasts only for about 5 seconds and then goes away. It usually stays around about 4 to 5 days, then I will not have an episode for maybe a month. So that takes care of that pain. When the pain happens on the inside side of the left foot,,,, if you take your finger and find the direct top of your foot,,, trace it down the inside of the left foot and stop mide way of the foot. This area, when it flares up, will bring this man to his knees. Again, the pain only lasts about 5 seconds and it also usually lasts 4-5 days. All instances of pain goes away with light rubbing on the area hurting. I usually just stop wherever I am, which includes walking in the mall and walmart and just wince up and grow very rigid when the pain comes. This is so embrarrasing and much, much more, I hate the pain. I have a few things against me.....I have a high medical deductible,,, and if I go in the doctor's office and say I have pain, please give me something,, they are going to think I am a junkie just looking for my next high. So, does anyone have any idea,,,,what the heck is going on with me ??? I would really appreciate it.
