Inner ankle/foot "pins & needles," tightness, throbhey all--
I'm new to the forum, but would very much appreciate your assistance. I should say up front that I'm a 25 year old college graduate currently without health insurance, so I'm seeking as much intel from external sources as possible before resorting to seeing a podiatrist A bit of background: six months ago I pulled my hamstring, and as a result had to switch up my exercise routine, which regularly consisted of elliptical use at my local gym. I took up a lot more walking in park, and some plyometric exercises that involved pounding of the feet. I developed a sharp pain through the inside of my left foot which radiated up to my toes (most notably the big toe and the toe next to it). That sharp pain has reduced considerably, but after trying to run two months ago, it came back with a vengeance. I've since tried to give it time to recover as best as possible, but my progress has stalled. Where I stand now is that the inside of my left foot regularly has a feeling of "pins & needles" that runs from just below my anklebone down into the inner arch of my foot. There is a tightness or a dull throb that radiates from that area. What I suppose I'm trying to discern is whether [a] I'm in the last stage of recovery from a severe case of tendonitis [b] a case of tarsal tunnel syndrome, or [c] if I've developed permanent nerve damage to my foot that will not heal. Naturally, depending on what some of you think this may be, I'm also interested in what some solutions or courses of action may be. If I can determine that there's nothing I can do outside the consultation of a professional, I will of course find the money to see someone, but would like to do as much as I can to treat it from home. Thanks! --Ryan
