Pain in ball of foot

Post a new topicby ryllan on Sat Oct 06, 2007 12:33 am

I've been having pain in the ball of my foot since July. I think I injured it when I landed on it after hurting the other foot and taking the weight. I didn't notice anything was wrong until a few weeks later when I started running on the tredmill a lot. I since have stopped doing that, but the pain persists. I don't think it is connected to the toe or the heal and suspect a stress fracture. The pain is always on the bottom of the ball, the outer curve and mainly towards the right outer side of my left foot. I don't think it is plantar facsiitis either since my heal and soul do not hurt and never have.

I really hurts after I exercise and have had some extrays that don't show anything and will have an MRI and then probably Podiatry where I hope to get a PET or a CAT scan to see if I really did break anything.

It is always tender and if I walk too much I get swelling and some pain underneath my toes, especially the 2-4 toes. My big toe hurts a little if I move it vigorously after exercise, but otherwise doens't cause me any discomfort. I don't know what to make of it. I still think it is broken, but I can walk around without much of any problem. It is just when I touch it and it burns some when I sit a certain way with shoes on.

any answers?
