PAIN UNDER THE BALL OF MY BIG TOW WHEN I RUNI am a runner and stay very active and I have fairly boney feet.. I have noticed over the last three weeks a feeling of what I am trying to explain as a knot, or like a small bee bee or swollen vein under my big toe on the ball of it..more towards the foot side and not the tip of the toe or under neath the toe nail...If i like stand on the toe and go from left to right, it feels tender and it feels like there is something kind of popping under the toe - like there is something there and i am rolling over it. soemtimes it goes away but it is becoming more constant.....I dont feel any pain when I am lying down or off of it at all..Pain only occurs when pressure is applied...I have no rough spots or corns and i am not diabetic.. I really can't feel it with pressure I apply using my hands and fingers per say when I am sitting down and using hands to massage it.. The pain occurs when I stand on it and put pressure on it from my body weight..it is not disabling but can be a nuisance and the pain is 5 out of a scale of 10.. I am 6ft3 205 pounds and am in great shape...this has really got my attention though
Does anyone know what this might be..i run about 125 miles a month and I can not really run rigt now without pain so i am doing eliptical machine which still hurts a little but not as much as running... thanks in advance for any help Scott
Re: PAIN UNDER THE BALL OF MY BIG TOW WHEN I RUNHi Scott,
Is it under the toe or under the big toe joint (ball of foot)? If it is under the ball of the foot - big toe joint you could have sesamoiditis. Have you had any scans or x-rays? Cheers, Lauren
