Bilateral peripheal neuropathy

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Nov 27, 2001 2:05 pm

Good Day. I have been diagnosed with peripheal neuropathy of unknown origin in both feet.I do not have diabetes.I have Gout which has flared up over the years but relatively easily managed with proper meds.I take Allipurinol daily. However, my feet are chronically in pain and become swollen intermittently. I am currently on low doses of Prednizone (5mgs /d)which gives some relief but the condition is ongoing. Are there any suggestions available?

Neuropathy can cause many types of pain. Medicines like Elavil and Neurontin can sometimes help these types of pain. You should talk to your doctor about these. Also, if this does not help, pain clinics are very good at dealing with unremitting pain and this may be necessary. Good luck and please write back if you have any further questions.
