foot pain

Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Jun 03, 2001 12:12 pm

I am asking a question relative to my husb. He is 42, in good health, works as an entertainer 5 nights a week, 3 hs non-stop. While singing, he is also dancing on stage, as well. He has recently been complaining of stinging pain in outer as of his feet - instep all way to edge of his foot. He has no toe pain. He has bouts of "charlie horse" type pain up into his thighs, his knees have been giving him shooting pains, as well. His mor bror both have gout in ir toes, his mor is diabetic. His last exam (in last six months) showed low cholesterol average triglycerides - strong heart, good general health. Is he suffering from fallen arches? Does sound like onset of gout? r response is greatly appreciated. Thank !

No, it does not sound like gout. However, he may have what is known as plantar fasciitis which you can read about under the heel pain section of podiatrychannel.com. However, he should see a podiatrist for a thorough examination so he can be properly diagnosed. Have a nice day and please write back if you have any further questions.
