Gout?

Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Jun 03, 2001 12:12 pm

I recently diagnosed osteoarthristis at 31. I'm female have never had children. osteoarthritis is in my spine can take up to 1 h to get out of bed. My MD gives me painkillers anti-inflammatory meds. I have had hydronephrosis--still do--had a left kidney pyeloplasty 3 years ago. in last few weeks, whenever I move my big toe, it feels like a razor is slicing down my entire foot. I went to emergency room twice. One MD said he had no idea, anor read from a book said it , "Plantar's Fastitis." I know it's called "Rich Man's Disease" I am a vegetarian I do not drink, nor smoke. How can I deal ? My bosses getting sick (no pun intended) all my ailments at such a ng age.

Gout is called the rich man's disease. Plantar fasciitis is not gout nor is it related to gout. However, you probaby do not have plantar fasciitis. You may have gout but with the spine arthritis, you may have a few other diseases that need to be considered. These include ankylosing spondilitis, Reiters syndrome and psoriatic arthritis. Therefore, go to your regular doctor and ask him/her to check you for these conditions. It is very rare to have osteoarthritis at such and early age. Depending on the diagnosis, there are many treatment options but you need to be diagnosed properly first. Good luck and if you have any further questions, please write back.
