Also bruises on & off. Had xrays & MRI, both were fine. Had blood test Uric Acid, actually came back 1 point lower than preferred (3.9). I don't know could be, my doctor seems clueless as well. The fact that your x-rays, MRI and uric acid levels are all normal does limit the possibilities. A deep bruise can cause nerve damage to the area. This can result in the pain you are feeling. Another condition that can be caused by a deep bruise is known as RSD (reflex sympathetic dystrophy). Very little is known about this but the internet will have plenty of information. Both of these can be treated an improved by physical therapy. Even if an exact diagnosis is not made, physical therapy can be a great help. Also, the fact that you still bruise there occasionally is interesting. This may mean a vascular problem. Finally, the redness needs to be addressed. You may have an infection in your foot and even in your bone. If you cut yourself when you injured your foot, this increases the possibilities and this may have started a localized infection. An infection is hard to see on an MRI or x-ray. Therefore, make sure that an infection is ruled out as a possibility first.
