Hammertoes/Claw Toes

I have had diabetes for 47 yrs. and developed hammestoes on both feet some time ago. Had surgery on right foot about 6 yrs. ago with excellent results. Went to another Orthopedic Surgeon who was involved with previous hammertoe surgery, for left foot surgery. This surgeon took pins out after only 24 days, compared to 6 wks. on right foot. Left foot never healed properly. Now I don’t know if I can safely have another operation to correct his screw-up. I’m 67 yrs. old
