Hammer Toe

Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Feb 10, 2002 4:32 am

I had 4 hammer toes, two in each foot (they are the smallest toes in everyone foot). The doctor did a surgery for me today. He did cut a part of the bone in each toe, is that the right treatment?. The surgery took about an hour for all the toes (15 minutes for each toe). was there any other treatment that I could done without the surgery? The doctor cut the part of the middle bone in the toes. If the doctor cut a bigger part of the bone than he should, is that going to effect me and my ability to walk like before or should I go talk to another doctor?

I just had the surgery today and I am very concern about that and i would like an answer to my questions before it is too late.

Your doctor performed an arthroplasty and this is the correct treatment for your condition. If you have direct questions, you should ask your surgeon because he knows your feet best.
