kind of treatment is available development of hammertoes as a result of trauma. I severely commuted my left calcaneous, ever since, my toes on my left foot very rigid. y dont pull back easily. I notice pain in toes towards end of day, as y become swollen. Doc, how long should I wait? Is re treatment ? Also, is happening? No one, not even my own doctor has given me a direct answer. Any or inmation would be greatly appreciated. THank

The tendons that control your toes wrap around the calcaneous. Therefore, these tendons are probably damaged due to the trauma. Therefore, you may want to try physical therapy to loosen and strengthen the tendons.This is the treatment that would probably help you the most.
