Hammertoes/Claw Toes

I had a bunnion on my big toe removed {and straightened} and the next two hammertoes operated on on Oct 21, I am still sitting here looking at that little pin sticking out of the toe closest to the big toe..I have just this last few days been able to put a little weight on the heel but still cannot plant my foot flatly. This pin to be removed on Dec 4th. When the dr pulls the pin does that somehow also release the big toe, or all the toes independent and only that one with the pin splinted?...all in all I would say that this has been a very pain full experience and I wasnt prepared ...After they pull the pin how long will it be before I can walk...will I get some kind of orthotic ? what do you think of the orthotic they sell on the infomercials for twenty bucks..How about Crocs are they really OK? I am from the far frozen north and have heard of people being more cold sensitive, not able to tolerate being outside sno blowing or mobiling , is this fact or is it forever or just untill you heal further?
I am taking one or two pain pills a day {oxycodin} . I started out dealing with this using crutches, about the third night home I got out of my recliner and got on my crutches and slipped and slapped my bad foot on the floor caught myself by grabbing my new flatscreen by hitting it on the screen with the crutch......thank god I didnt break it but I can see on the surface of the screen where i hit it but it doesnt show anything when the tv is on ..but that bummed me out and I got a wheel chair , that works good but it is sucking alot getting around...after the crutches I got a walker and I use that a bit but the pressure of pushing off and balancing has caused pain in the heal and palm of my hand and now Im getting a lower back pain from all the weird positions I get in to protect my foot...My wife suggested I should take advil or some thing like that...is that ok to take with the pain pill Im taking...and how is it that the pain pill Im prescribed for the foot doesnt help the other stuff that is bothering me...I am 65, in great health, never take pills, got great blood pressure, weigh 200, and im 6'2"....Would appreciate any input from all you experienced folks on any of the above.....
