Toe problemsHello my name is Christin . Im a 38 year female and my feet bother me. They look terrible, Im embarrassed to show them and hide them whenever I can. I had always problems with my feet, especially my toes but the last time they get worser from year to year. But now I reached a point where I can hardly wear closed shoes, it is nearly impossible because my toes hurt very bad in closed shoes. All of my lesser toes are curled down and some overlapping each other (my second and fifth toes), I got hard corns on the tops of my toe joints, which are sometimes inflamed. My big toes are pointing toward the small ones underlying the neighbor toes. In the summer time I wore open shoes and it was embarrassing. I realized that many people stare at my feet when I was sitting in the bus or riding a train for example. Some older women even asked me about them.
Now in winter I wear open Birkenstock sandals with thick wool socks, what gives sometimes cold feet and make poeple look at my pets again ( not many people wear sandals in these cold days...). Theyre just feet but they can make you serious problems. My aunts both feet were operated and she got much more problems now, so I dont want to have a operation on my feet. Someone can give me some tips what to do ? Are there exercises that I can do. Anyone got experiences with a similar problem ? Thank you Christin
Re: Toe problemsYour only two options are to have surgery or have shoes specially made to fit your feet. The shoes can be made by a pedorthist who you will find in the phone book. Surgery techniques have advance a great deal as well so you may want to talk to a podiatrist about surgery. Have a nice day and please write back if you have any further questions.
