Back of ankle pain when jogging

Post a new topicby cleeper on Sat Aug 25, 2007 10:41 am

I would like some help. I have pain in the back on my ankle when I jog. Could it be that I am not jogging correctly? I usually have to stop and stretch my ankle by placing the flat of my feet together and press. I do stretches before I start, and I always walk first before jogging in a slow pace. Any suggestions?

I would recommend going in to have that evaluated by a podiatrist. If it's the back of the ankle, there might be bone that's pinching the back of the ankle or it could be tendonitis from how you run - not necessarily you're jogging incorrectly but maybe the mechanics of the way you run or jog is hurting the tendons and ligaments. Hope this helps!

Do yourself a favor and quit jogging. Walk instead. I get ankle pain just when I wear a clog type of shoe. Jogging is too hard for you now.
