My mother in low is over sixty years old and she has very bad pain in her heel. She took x ray and they told her that she has bone spur. She tried the icy and hot water method and releif was for a while. She also tried medication but no use.So can you please tell me what is the best way to get rid of the pain? The doctor told her about a cortisone injection in the heel, what is your advice ? Thank you

I would agree with a cortisone injection as well as stretching exercises. The bone spur itself is not the cause of the pain and rarely needs to be removed. Furthermore, the injection normally helps tremendously along with stretching and wearing good shoes. Have a nice day.
