Continued bouts of heel painI have had two rounds of shots in my right heel for heel spur pain. The first time it was fantastic and I was pain free within a few days. A week ago I had another one and it was also taped, I saw no improvement. It aches off and on all night and sometimes when I get up in the morning it seems a little better until I have been on it a while and then pain! I can't hardly walk any distance at all due to the pain. I was given pain pills and told to stay off my feet as much as possible for another 2 to 3 weeks continuing my exercises and ice. I have orthodics I wear (but I was not cast for them as I have read). Question.. How long should I continue this course of treatment realistically ....Am I going down the right path to get this healed up or should I do more. Second question...
When lying flat on my back my feet do not point up they point the same horizontal position as my body. I also cannot bring the top of my foot back to make a 90 degree angle..is this normal. Thanks for any help or suggestions you might have for me.
Re: Continued bouts of heel painSurgery to remove a spur and to cut the plantar fascia that attaches to it is viable option if conservative treatment is not working. Therefore, if the pain is not improving in 2-3 weeks, this would be an option to discuss with your doctor.
