Dr's diagnosis on calcium buildup on AT.

I recently had X-Rays on my right heel because of persistant debilitating pain on the back and side of my heel. The Dr said the X-Rays revealed a calcium buildup where the Achilles Tendon joins into the heel and asked if I has suffered any injury. I have been active many years and in last ten have had plantar fasciitis (which I overcome wearing night splints) but this seemingly will not go away. I am presently rubbing in glucosamine jelly on the heel and then applying a heavy duty vibrator to the region in the hopes of breaking up the calcium. The Dr said they used to operate on this but the calcium returns. There are so many threads on this forum that I thought as a newcomer I would post my case and see if anyone has similar conditions. Thanks. Stu
