Heel PainOver the past 3 weeks I have developed severe pain in my left heel when weight is applied, which feels as if it comes from within the bone rather than externally. The pain is most severe after a period when the foot has been at rest. In the morning when I first go to put weight on the foot the pain that develops is severe enough that I cannot walk using both legs and feet: I have to introduce weight to this foot in tiny increments.
Initially I had similar but less severe feeling in my right foot also, but they have diminished to almost nothing. About 5 weeks ago I fell from a height of 5 feet and overbalanced after impact and hit my head. I may have been more concerned about that at the time and not noticed that I may have fallen and hurt my feet. I am male, 50 years old, weigh 260 lbs and have a probable calcium deficiency. I would welcome your thoughts and insights. Thank you.
Re: Heel PainFirst, you should see a podiatrist as soon as possible. You need to have an x-ray taken to make sure you did not fracture your heel bone. Hopefully, you just have plantar fasciitis which you can read more about under the conditions section of podiatrychannel.com under heel pain. However, you should see a podaitrist as soon as possible to make sure it is nothing more severe.
